North Carolina stood nostril to nostril with the Fighting Irish for half of Saturday's nationally televised game. At intermission, the score was knotted at 17-17 and Notre Dame held a miniscule edge in total yards. But the depth, strength, athleticism, play-making ability, and poise on the Irish side of the ledger came to bear the longer the game went on.
