Former UNC point guard Ty Lawson was a 2009 first-team All-American, ACC Player of the Year, team MVP of the 2009 national champions, Bob Cousy Award winner, and his jersey is honored at the Smith Center. Lawson was the first point guard in 31 years to be named ACC Player of the Year and the first point guard to lead UNC in field goal percentage.
