UNC women's soccer again powerful, just a bit banged up

Once again, the North Carolina women's soccer team holds the preseason No. 1 spot in two national polls. That's a nice bit of news for a Heels squad that has suffered injuries to key players this summer. Two UNC players tore their anterior cruciate ligaments this summer and a third player's career ended because of an ACL tear late last season. The Tar Heels are ranked No. 1 by Soccer America and Soccer Buzz and No. 2 in the coaches' poll. UNC finished 20-1-2 last year after losing to Santa Clara 1-0 in overtime in the NCAA third round.
