Defensive coordinator Jay Bateman out at UNC as recruiting success not enough to keep job

"After postseason conversations between Coach Brown and Coach Bateman, the pair mutually decided it was best to part ways," North Carolina football spokesman Jeremy Sharpe said on Friday. “In addition, the duties of the outside linebackers coaching position are expected to change. Therefore, Coach Dewitt will not return to the staff next season."
