Ronnie McGill to miss most of 2005 season
Posted Jun 16, 2005
Tailback Ronnie McGill, who has 12 touchdowns in two seasons at North Carolina, will miss a large chunk of the 2005 season after tearing his left pectoral muscle. McGill suffered the injury lifting weights at UNC on Monday. He will have surgery on Friday, according to a statement, which said his recovery was expected to take 4-5 months. McGill's injury shifts the focus of the running game to LSU transfer Barrington Edwards, who sat out last season but wowed those who saw him in practice.
