Tar Heel Trailblazer: Synthia Kearney


The first African American on the UNC women's soccer team and Gastonia, North Carolina's first female battalion chief, Synthia Kearney will be celebrated this month as a Tar Heel Trailblazer. Kearney is the second member of her family to receive this honor, joining her youngest brother, the late , as the first siblings to be named Tar Heel Trailblazers. (GoHeels.com)
