After missing a game with an injured knee and before having surgery to fix the issue, UNC's Kenny Smith scored a career-high 41 points in Littlejohn Coliseum against Clemson. The Tigers had some good basketball teams in the late '80s, with two of Horace Grant, Elden Campbell, and Dale Davis on the roster every year between 1987 and 1990.
