UNC Baseball loses incoming transfer pitcher Luke Russo to MLB Draft

For Luke Russo, the opportunity to play professional baseball outweighed the opportunity to play at North Carolina. The former Howell all-state Dream Team pitcher will leave for Clearwater, Fla. this week to begin his pro career in the system of the Philadelphia Phillies, who selected him Tuesday in the 16th round of the Major League Baseball draft.
