North Carolina, West Virginia have brief competition history on football field


The North Carolina Tar Heels and West Virginia Mountaineers have a short history of competition on the football field, but their two meetings, both in bowl games, have been entertaining affairs that played out in opposite manners. Each team owns a win, with the Tar Heels coming out on top 20-13 in a defense-dominated game in the 1997 Gator Bowl. (Blue Gold News)
