Nogueira and Tar Heels Retake Women’s Soccer Title
Posted Dec 8, 2008
It can no longer be assumed that North Carolina will win every N.C.A.A. women’s soccer tournament title, or even make it to the College Cup each year. The Tar Heels fell short of the semifinals in three of the last four years after winning 16 of the first 19 titles. But they restored order on Sunday, beating top-seeded and undefeated Notre Dame, 2-1, in the College Cup final their 19th title over all.
