Dustin Ackley, Alex White Claim Preseason All-America Honors

UNC juniors Dustin Ackley and Alex White were both honored as first-team selections Tuesday when the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association released its ninth-annual preseason All-America team. Ackley, a first baseman, hit .417 a year ago with 116 hits, 21 doubles, seven home runs, 51 RBI and 19 steals. He earned All-America honors as a freshman and sophomore and can become the first three-time All-America in school history with a repeat selection in 2009.
