Hundreds of UNC Alumni Affected by California Wildfires


The homes of nearly 400 UNC alumni were in the path or in evacuation zones of fast-moving destructive fires that began Jan. 7 in the Los Angeles area, according to information based on alumni records. High winds exceeding 80 mph and an unusually dry winter created conditions for seven different fires that destroyed homes and entire neighborhoods. (Carolina Alumni Review)
