UNC alumna, Army captain Rebecca Lobach killed in midair collision was ‘brilliant and fearless’


U.S. Army Capt. Rebecca M. Lobach, who died in Wednesday’s collision of a Black Hawk helicopter and an American Airlines jet was "brilliant and fearless," friends and fellow soldiers said. Lobach had served as an Army aviation officer since 2019, earning an Army commendation medal after graduating from UNC as a distinguished military graduate. (Associated Press)
