If Ty Lawson and Wayne Ellington keep it up, the Tar Heels are starting to look poised for a deep run. Paced by the tandem’s poised dominance, Carolina fought through a sub par offensive outing to grind out a 76-61 win over the Virginia Cavaliers. On an afternoon that UNC honored its eight members of the Basketball Hall of Fame with a rousing halftime ceremony, the current crop of Tar Heels did not exactly produce a game for the ages.
