Growing up in Virginia, figured his future was in basketball. It wasn’t until high school that the second-year member of the Saskatchewan Roughriders made the switch to football. After playing for North Carolina (2015-18), Carney went on to have stints in the NFL with Detroit, Seattle, and Denver before coming to the CFL in 2021. (Regina Leader-Post)
