When Jake Schaffner heard Owen Hull’s name called in the second round of the MLB Draft by the Boston Red Sox, he immediately FaceTimed his fellow North Carolina Tar Heel. Why? Forty-seven picks before, Schaffner had heard his name called by commissioner Rob Manfred by the very same Boston team. “He’s one of my best friends,” Schaffner said.
