Lawson helps Heels clinch ACC regular-season title

Had North Carolina played arch rival Duke on Saturday, junior point guard Ty Lawson probably wouldn’t have played. Had Lawson not played, the Tar Heels probably wouldn’t be heading to Atlanta later this week with the top seed for the ACC tournament. But despite being slowed by a jammed big toe, Lawson made the big plays at the finish to propel UNC to a 79-71 victory over the Blue Devils to clinch its 28th ACC regular-season title.
