Dustin Ackley helps Heels down Devils 8-3


clubbed two home runs and delivered the defensive play of the game to lead UNC past Duke last night in the ACC baseball tournament's first round. UNC grabbed an 8-3 win at Durham Bulls Athletic Park to improve to 42-14. Ackley, a junior first baseman from Walnut Cove, put UNC ahead for good when he drilled Christopher Manno's eighth pitch of the game to right center 11 rows into the stands. (Winston-Salem Journal)
