Dustin Ackley stroked three hits last night to become North Carolina's career leading hitter, helping secure a 5-2 win over Dartmouth in the first round of the NCAA baseball tournament's Chapel Hill Regional. Ackley lined a double down the left-field line in the bottom of the eighth inning to drive in his second run of the game for his 329th UNC hit. The previous record was 328, set in the 2008 season by Chad Flack.
