Dustin Ackley is top hitter on 2009 MLB Draft
Posted Jun 8, 2009
Dustin Ackley was limited to playing first base this season while recovering from Tommy John surgery, but has the skills to be an elite center fielder in the majors. He possesses plus-plus speed and a short compact swing that generates consistent power and contact. His line of .414/21/66 this season for the Tar Heels solidifies his position as the top hitter in the '09 draft. Ackley's projected draft slot: 2nd overall to the Seattle Mariners.
