It is with trepidation born of experience that any Mariners fan will quickly embrace Dustin Ackley, owner of the most gaudy youthful resume since the last time the Mariners picked as high as second, the 1993 draft that produced A-Rod. Ackley, a junior first baseman/outfielder from UNC, has every baseball seamhead swooning. As one scout put it to ESPN the Magazine: "I would walk over hot coals naked to watch this kid hit."
