Get out the wallet: Mariners can now pursue Dustin Ackley

Let the bidding begin. The Seattle Mariners are now free to begin negotiating with first-round draft pick Dustin Ackley and super agent Scott Boras after the North Carolina star finished his season with a 12-5 loss to Arizona State on Thursday in the College World Series. It surely wasn't the finish Ackley wanted, but the All-America first baseman did hit a ninth-inning single to extend his CWS hitting streak to 15 games.
