For Harrison Barnes, High Marks on and off the Court
Posted Jul 12, 2009
The top-ranked basketball player in the rising senior high school class, Harrison Barnes, did nothing to hurt his reputation at the LeBron James Skills Academy and King City Classic this week. Barnes, a silky 6-foot-8 wing, has a game that’s polished beyond his years. His feathery jump shot is just as impressive as his ability to elevate and snatch rebounds above the rim. But perhaps even more sophisticated than his game is his mature demeanor. Barnes has a 3.6 grade-point average at Ames High School in Iowa and will most likely be a sophomore academically when he arrives at the college of his choice.
