At one time, UNC's T.J. Yates was considered a better basketball prospect than he was a football player. If the senior quarterback from Marietta, Ga., had any doubts as to whether he chose the wrong sport, they ended one evening at the Dean Dome a few years ago, when Yates got into a pickup game and had to guard Ty Lawson, the star of the Tar Heels' national championship team and a recent first-round NBA draft choice.
