Posted Nov 4, 2009
Elon University put the ball in front of the net as time wound down and that created an anxious moment for third-ranked North Carolina in Tuesday night’s men’s soccer game at Rhodes Stadium. But goalkeeper Scott Goodwin of the Tar Heels snatched the ball away before 6-foot Chris Thomas could attempt a header and North Carolina prevailed 2-1.
