Tar Heels come up one kick short
Posted Dec 12, 2009
The fifth-seeded UNC men's soccer team entered its NCAA semifinal game looking to break top-seeded Akron's perfect record this season. The Tar Heels did just that Friday night, but they still aren't advancing to the national championship game. UNC and Akron ended their game in a scoreless tie, but the Zips advanced to the program's second national championship game after edging the Tar Heels 5-4 in penalty kicks.
