Bowl win would be progress for UNC

In many ways, today's Meineke Car Care Bowl illustrates the improvement North Carolina has made under Butch Davis and the progress the Tar Heels still have to make. For the first time since 1998, UNC is playing in a bowl game for a second straight season. In No. 17-ranked Pittsburgh, UNC faces a Top 25 opponent today in Charlotte that was one overtime loss from playing in a Bowl Championship Series game. (Raleigh News & Observer)
