Quenton Alton to UNC
Posted Feb 2, 2010
On Saturday morning, UNC coach Butch Davis called Quinton Alton -- a senior with one season of high school football under his belt -- to offer him a full scholarship. Alton will sign with the Tar Heels on Wednesday at a ceremony at the high school. “It’s amazing,” said Alton, a defensive end with a 3.0 grade-point average. Amazing is the right word: When Alton showed up for his first offseason workout with the team last spring, he had no idea how to get into a proper stance.
