From Fetzer To Finley: The Year The Defense Finally Got Its Due


There were so many twists and turns in UNC's journey to the 2009 NCAA women's soccer championship that when I sat down to write this column my head was literally racing at the thought of the sheer number of angles I could take in telling the tale. Writing a column of tribute to the women's soccer program has been an annual endeavor for me. It is a labor of love. But this year, I was genuinely puzzled as to which direction to pursue.
