Junior Colin Bates pitched a career-high seven effective innings to lead No. 11 North Carolina over George Washington 6-3 Sunday in front of 1205 fans at Boshamer Stadium. North Carolina improves to 3-0 with their series sweep of George Washington, who falls to 0-3 on the young season. Bates (1-0) earned his eleventh career victory in his first career start.
