Marquis Rankin commits to Va. Tech

Vance High basketball star Marquis Rankin said he was excited to commit to Virginia Tech Friday. "It was a big load on my back, and I decided I wanted to get it over with," Rankin said. "I wanted to focus more on the academic part of it. I was ready to get this big decision out of the way." Rankin is a 6-foot junior point guard ranked No. 23 nationally in the Class of 2011 by scout.com.
