UNC football: High hopes

Like it or not, Butch Davis has a quarterback controversy on his hands at UNC. The struggles last season by T.J. Yates already had the senior on the hot seat entering spring practice. But when redshirt freshman Bryn Renner outplayed Yates in the scrimmage to end spring practice, it increased the pressure on Davis to at least consider opening up the competition for the starting job next fall.
