Wake Forest cut down a basketball oak last Sunday. If another hardwood falls tonight, the Deacons can hoop and holler in the edge of the NCAA forest. The long road back from irrelevance now leads Wake Forest to a blue spaceship just down the hill from North Carolina’s dormitory ghetto.
