Butch Davis has reputation for clean programs

During his six-year tenure at Miami, where he made his name from 1995 to 2000, Butch Davis helped revive a program that had been ravaged by NCAA violations, including fraudulent student loans and a pay-for-play scheme under previous coach Dennis Erickson. Davis has declined to comment about the current NCAA investigation. (Charlotte Observer)
