Heading into the ACC Kickoff, there was no question in my mind that T.J. Yates was going to be the starter in Atlanta on Sept. 4. But Butch Davis wasn’t in the mood to play games in Greensboro and his comments on Bryn Renner were eye-opening. I was convinced that Yates’ game experience would give him the nod early in the season, but I now believe that this is a legitimate quarterback competition.
