With NCAA investigations leaving many of the Tar Heels’ standouts unavailable for tonight’s showdown with Louisiana State, many of the Tar Heels’ backups are assured of being front-and-center when the season kicks off at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. “The overriding message I give to all of our players is ‘Be ready,’” Butch Davis said. “You never know when your opportunity will present itself.” (Burlington Times News)
