Notre Dame knocks UNC women out of NCAAs

In a classic NCAA women’s soccer rivalry that UNC has mostly dominated, there was familiarity to Notre Dame’s 4-1 win in the third round of the NCAA Tournament Saturday. While the Heels had prevailed in three of the previous four consecutive postseason meetings, the Irish did win a third round match at Fetzer Field in 2007. There’s where the likeness ended. The Heels haven’t allowed that many goals since 1980.
