Hoops & Pigskin galore

The Men's Tar Heel basketball team has lost their first game to the University of Maryland at home in a setting reminiscent of the 2000 "ice storm" game that was also against the Terrapins. They have slid in the polls to 4th and 5th respectively, but bounced back to beat Miami, while the Lady Tar Heels missed an opportunity to stun the top-ranked University of Connecticut Huskies on the road. UNC Football has started winter training and the coaches are wrapping up official visits, in anticipation of a prosperous National College Signing Day on the first Wednesday of February.
