Jim Boylan, Mike O'Koren brought New Jersey flavor to NCAA Tournament in 1977

To this day, they see each other not as college stars or NBA coaches, but as kids on the courts at St. Joseph’s Elementary in the Heights, three blocks east of Journal Square. For Jim Boylan, Mike O’Koren is the ninth-grader from Palisade Ave. Sure, his mouth never stopped moving, but the older guys tolerated the kid from Hudson Catholic because he was absurdly talented for a 6-5 freshman, and because he would give you his blood if you needed it.
