Opening statements given in Eve Carson murder case

After six days of jury selection, attorneys on Wednesday laid out their cases in the murder trial of a Durham man accused of killing University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill student body president Eve Carson more than three years ago. Laurence Alvin Lovette Jr., 21, is charged with first-degree murder in the March 5, 2008.
