1. Familiar face in charge: Former UNC standout Jason Capel is in his second season as Appalachian State's head coach. He played at North Carolina from 1998-2002, scoring 1,447 points. At 31, he is the third-youngest coach in Division I behind only Robert Morris' Andy Toole (who is also 31) and newly appointed UNC-Greensboro coach Wes Miller (28).
