Tar Heels Advance to 20th Straight ACC Final on Penalty Kicks
Posted Nov 10, 2007
For the 20th straight season, the North Carolina women's soccer team reached the ACC Championship game, but for the first time in school history they had to use penalty kicks to get there. Just a week after the number-one seeded Tar Heels and the number-four seeded Virginia Cavaliers played a tightly contested 1-0 overtime game, the two squads finished the first 110 minutes of play Friday with the score knotted at one.
