This is certainly the best chance since the Tar Heels won the title in 2005, the last time Williams had a team with experience as its core attribute. There has been a steady growth in talent during the past two seasons, but there have also been lessons to learn, some of them painful. The final six minutes of regulation against Georgetown in the round of eight in the NCAA Tournament were particularly instructive and agonizing.
