After Saturday’s 27-6 victory over East Carolina at Kenan Stadium, Bernard repeatedly talked about wanting to be sure about his recovery. “I told myself at the beginning of the week, ‘I’m not going to come back unless I can do what I can, do what I’ve been able to do all my career,’” Bernard said. “I came back today, (and) I was ready to play — no knee brace, felt fine.” (Durham Herald-Sun)
