Red Zone Woes

The Tar Heels entered the 99th installment of this rivalry with varying degrees of success in the red zone. They had made 38 trips into the red zone -- good for second in the ACC behind Florida State -- but had misfired on nine opportunities (76 percent conversion rate; 84th nationally). UNC ranked 98th in red zone efficiency defense with a 89 percent conversion rate (16/18; 11 TD, 5 FG). (Inside Carolina)
