Long-time UNC Sportswriter Eddy Landreth Dies At 48

Long-time local sportswriter and personality Eddy Landreth died Wednesday morning at UNC Hopsitals. Landreth had been suffering an intestinal obstruction and died from septic shock, according to friends in the media. Landreth wrote for newspapers in Charlotte, Winston-Salem and Durham before serving as the sports editor of the Chapel Hill News. Most recently, he wrote a column for the Carrboro Citizen.
