Tar Heels still need big win

North Carolina has one last chance to get a signature non-conference win when the Tar Heels host No. 20 UNLV today at the Smith Center (2 p.m., ESPN2). The Tar Heels (9-3) rose as high as ninth in the country in mid-November before a disappointing set of results left them unranked for the first time since Jan. 29, 2011. (Durham Herald-Sun)
