Washington University hires UNC Chancellor Thorp as provost


Washington University named Holden Thorp, currently chancellor of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, as provost, effective July 1. Thorp, 48, had announced in September that he planned to step down as UNC’s chancellor. The announcement followed several athletic-related scandals, including NCAA sanctions against UNC’s program and Thorp’s firing of football Coach . (St. Louis Business Journal)
