If John Bunting had had his way, Rodney Landers would be wearing baby blue and playing in the defensive secondary Saturday. North Carolina and then-coach Bunting recruited Landers – now James Madison’s starting quarterback – out of Tallwood High School in Virginia Beach. But the Tar Heels, like all of the Division I-A schools recruiting him, envisioned Landers playing on the other side of the ball.
