Matt Harvey Shuns Surgery, Hopes for 2014 Return


One day after consulting with famed orthopedic surgeon James Andrews, Mets ace has chosen to temporarily forgo surgery and attempt to return to action next season by rehabilitating his injured right elbow. Mets general manager Sandy Alderson said Harvey will "embark on a throwing program of six to eight weeks" before making a final determination about how to proceed. (Wall Street Journal)
